Belly

Writer: Theresa BaxterTheresa Baxter

There is something I’ll always have

It comes with me everywhere

Whenever I give a glance at my waist

I’m happy to see that it’s there

It’s jolly and round like a bouncing ball

It can shake like a bowl full of jelly

I made it myself so I am very proud

My beloved and charming pot belly

I’m never embarrassed to show it around

It always peeks out of my shirt

And if anything should bump into it

I find that I never am hurt!

I think that we worry too much about it

To have one brings not shame on you

I happen to feel that it looks kind of sweet

Don’t we all love that Winnie the Pooh?

So show tummy love with a hearty meal

For life is too short to deprive

Let’s celebrate being one with ourselves

And feel joy at just being alive!
