So apt that maxim deftly dealt
“Tis better to have not had wealth
Then one sad day to live without”
I’ve long believed, there is no doubt
A habit that is well-established
Behaviour that is spoilt and lavish
Hard to be without when trained
To think abundance is ordained
Would wilt the flower left in shade
Beyond the reach of sun, will fade
Its place is taken by the weed
That learns survival based on need
To know the difference between
Living well and in your means
Now that is how I aim to be
Enjoy myself, yet modestly
A simple life ain’t hard to find
If valued more is peace of mind!
