Oh sweet September
Oh month of glad beauty
That ushers in fall
A symbolic duty
Gifts us wide skies
That are clear and bright blue
Inclement days
Are infrequent and few
Trees lushly green
Feel whispers of cold
May prompt what remains
Turn from verdant to gold
The day’s gentle breezes
Are met with good cheer
So grateful for warmth
At this time of the year
The beautiful sunsets
That bloom at great heights
With such fiery pinks
That bedim to cool nights
Oh sweet September
You’ve treated us well
In your sheltered embrace
We would forever dwell…
