Deserving of a treat or two
A better life than once she knew She needs so little it’s a wonder
How anyone could put asunder
I hope she feels the love I feel
The way she dawdles at my heel
It melts my heart into a puddle
I pull her close so we can cuddle
When asleep and twitching so
I wonder where her dog dreams go
In space suspended she will run
And chase her target until done
Then finally sleeps at last at peace
Her spirit free her soul unleashed…
