The Golden Rule

Writer: Theresa BaxterTheresa Baxter

This holiday has always made

Us search for things in grass we’ve laid

We think of bunnies and lots of chocolate

This time of year we buy a lot of it

But most of all we think of peace

Our time together, or we should at least

And hopefully, to be most grateful

And quite respectful and never hateful

Though I subscribe to no religion

I give regard to the opinion

Uphold your faith and all it gives

As long as you live and let live

The Golden Rule, I consider true

Do unto others, as you’d have them

Do unto you…
