The Sunflower

Writer: Theresa BaxterTheresa Baxter

A flower that's now come to be

A true symbol of potent beauty

The humble sunflower

Bursts with all the sun's power

And thrives best when it's left to grow free

Deeply enrooted they stand

Like a blanket they'll cover the land

Tall and strong as a steeple

They embody a people

Such fierce reverence they command!
