Daily Poem
Cold-Blooded
What calamity, to have wit but no soul
Breath without heart
A bloodless manner, in its stead
Crave the taste of it on your tongue
Thrill at the acrid tingle
Barely sigh at its sight
Consciousness bereft of conscience
Of dust you are made
To dust you shall return…
