Summer

Writer's picture: Theresa BaxterTheresa Baxter

School is out for summer

We survived another year

Let the vegetatin' start

Let's have a glass of beer

Let the kids be just like kids

It doesn't matter how

Let resting on the deck be all

That's required of us now

Let summer's buzz be soft and low

All sunsets, wine and cheese

Let music from the 70's

Be what floats on the breeze

Let's remember we deserve

A break from rushing day

And that's just what the summer's for

A peaceful hammock sway!
