Forgiveness

Writer: Theresa BaxterTheresa Baxter

It might seem a little thing

Yet means so very much

It takes away the strongest sting

With the lightest touch

There are those that cannot part

With this precious token

The insides of their fragile heart

Remain disturbed and broken

Though it is a special gift

That feels to be self-serving

The spirit it most aims to lift

Is oft most undeserving

But I promise if you endeavor

To release the pain you hoard

Weighted bonds are quick to sever

Your soul will feel restored
