A leprechaun, whose name was Sean
Was out quite late, right up till dawn
He’d gotten drunk on lager green
Behaved quite rude, made such a scene
But being small, made his escape
His darting moves left folks agape
His pockets full of pilfered gold
From all the patrons he had stole
As local jester, tolerated
Annoying thief? Quite understated
His love for gold, his wicked pleasure
Hoarded so, this plundered treasure
Some people think at rainbow’s end
Is where you’ll find our little friend
Methinks he likes this reputation
Saint Patrick’s Day means celebration
Leprechauns are mascots dear
They bring good luck and lots of cheer
Except for minxy Little Sean
He helps himself, and then he’s GONE!
So on this day, be glad, but wary
Excess funds you should not carry
Enjoy your ale, your corned beef hash
And keep good track of all your cash
And if you see a Leprechaun?
It’s best you hope his name’s not Sean…
