This poem was written in support of education support workers fighting for fair wages in Alberta. This photo was taken at a protest at the Alberta Legislature on February 27, 2025. It was a raucous and energetic affair, with representatives from all over Alberta, making their voices heard as the Alberta Legislature presented its budget for 2025. These incredibly dedicated and hardworking Albertans are being stymied and suppressed, talked down to and disrespected. They have been striking for 7 weeks, with no end in sight. We must do all we can to support these valuable members of our education system and the children they serve. Our future truly depends on it...
