$pace Cadet

Writer's picture: Theresa BaxterTheresa Baxter

When I was just a little kid

I thought what would be neat

To be an astronaut in space

Would make my life complete

I don’t know why I was so keen

For there was just one twist

First you had to learn to be

A rocket scientist!

Unfortunately math is hard

No matter how I tried

I could barely pass that class

And that’s when my dream died

Cut to twenty twenty two

A dream daunting and rare

Now outer space is within reach!

(And full of billionaires!)

Who would’ve thought that all it took

Was just a ton of cash

Not smarts or school or anything

Just the ego to be brash

Now I have a different goal

I hope you’ll share it too

To care for things that inspire all

Not just the privileged few…
