Root Veggies

Writer's picture: Theresa BaxterTheresa Baxter

Planted many months ago

In my garden, row by row

Carrots with their lacy greens

Are thick and ready to be cleaned

Potatoes that are buried deep

Now harvested and piled in heaps

My veggie patch, a source of pride

Such robust gifts it does provide

Every year we cannot wait

To have this food upon our plate

Showing that with constant care

We’ll enjoy our home-grown fare

This bounty is our just reward

And hearts are healthily restored!
