The Summer Fair

Writer: Theresa BaxterTheresa Baxter

Feel the anticipation of

Rising to the sky above

Plunging straight back to the ground

Means the fair has come to town

Carnivals weave cross the land

And summer love goes hand in hand

Cherry lip gloss cut off shorts

Deep-fried treats of many sorts

Holding hands amongst the crowds

Music blaring screams so loud

Smell of popcorn sugared donuts

Carnies urging crowds to go nuts

Throwing balls to break the plate

Win a prize for your sweet date

And as the day turns into night

The midway comes alive with light

You hope the summer never ends

As through enchanting maze you wend

Clinging tight as ride goes round

Your first kiss makes your young heart pound

While sitting top the ferris wheel

The best kiss you will ever feel!
