An Uncomplicated Life

A charmed life’s one that lacks much notice

Like baby’s first sweet wave and blow-kiss

Our breakfast warm, our bed’s been made

At end of month our bills are paid

A stranger’s smile, held-open door

Such simple ways we feel cared for

In plainest terms and modest means

Conventional and dull routines

The beauty of the everyday

Attention that we barely pay

To that which clouds our path with dross

That detritus away we toss

The upward mobile snake and ladder

Blinds us to what truly matters

Uncomplicated life we build

Our needs are few, when we’re fulfilled

Implore I do, to gauge success

Enjoying more while having less…
