THE HESITANT FIANCÉE

Do not patronize with words just to please me

Nothing worth doing is ever done easy

Do not pat the seat there beside you to sit

I will not oblige, not the littlest bit

Do not expect me to be quiet or silent

To skulk in the corner docile and compliant

You thought me submissive, that was your mistake

Scars healed to rouged steel with each unfounded break

Strip us of freedoms we rightfully gained?

You think us placated? Our will to fight drained?

I say you should quake to the storm that is coming

For history is made by the galvanized woman

Times are a-changing, our trajectory too

Stand aside, or be trampled, is the choice left to you…
