Comes the Rain

*Illustration reference:

Animated film "My Neighbor Totoro" (1988).

Written and directed by

Hayao Miyazaki

The rain it washes, cleans, restores

Undirties all as down it pours

Refreshing that which glooms with dust

Nourish buds till full and lush

The blades of grass that wilt in heat

Breathe sigh of ease and droop replete

The cooling breeze from blue-gray skies

Is welcomed break from baking highs

Tis Nature’s way, this harmony

The ups, the downs, brings calm to me

Relentless sun would drive us mad

Unending storms be just as bad

But in exchange, when balance met

About as good as it can get

So wake up smiling though it squalls

Stay dry inside while deluge falls

The sun will shine and warm again

A world refreshed, as right as rain!
