Monster and Me

Writer's picture: Theresa BaxterTheresa Baxter

Monsters come in many forms

They’re not a fantasy

They don’t just live under the bed

They often roam quite free

I am supposed to fear them but

I am not afraid! No way!

For I have one that visits me

He loves to chat and play

One night popped out my closet

And then tapped me on the head

And though I almost screamed at him

I laughed at him instead

And that is all these monsters want

Alone they are, quite sadly

They can’t help their appearance so

I do not judge them badly

They’re looking for a friend in kind

With caring ear to lend

And that is how a monster came

To be my closest friend!
