Return to Me

Writer: Theresa BaxterTheresa Baxter

Nothing’s fine until your face

Sits beside in rightful place

On my doorstep at my table

Come to me, dear, as you’re able

It’s not as special when without

I need you here, there is no doubt

My eyes are dim while you are gone

Your spirit lifts when lit upon

I’ll count the minutes and the hours

Cast desire on starlight showers

That you arrive as quick as can

Cheek to cheek and hand in hand

Intertwined within my heart

My year-end wish, to never part…
