Daily Poem

Never Lost

With ease once how the words did flow

Enough to wonder where’d they go?

Did weary soul eat all them up

Or did a hole spring in my cup?

Or did distraction scrap the will

Once heated passion dulled by chill

But rhymes did flit and dart about

Yet needed not be right found out

They could be pooled around my heels

Or muddied puddle splashing wheels

Once stilled the silt will drift to bottom

As hunter I have keenly sought them

Pressed to chest like treasured note

Inspired by these words I’ve wrote

They found their way, weren’t never lost

And like a penny wish-filled tossed

I throw them in the air with zest

To fall where they might want to rest…
